Welcome to MacroIn ("we", "our", or "us"). We are dedicated to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have complete transparency regarding how your personal data and health metrics are handled when you use the MacroIn mobile application and website.

1. Information We Collect

To provide personalized caloric maintenance and macronutrient targets, we collect:

• Body Metrics & Physical Characteristics: Age, biological sex, height, current weight, target weight, activity levels, and dietary goals.
• Nutrition & Hydration Logs: Logged food entries, barcode scanner lookups, custom food items, and daily water consumption.
• Camera & Meal Photos: Photos captured for AI meal recognition or body progress tracking. Photos captured for AI vision are analyzed ephemerally and never sold or shared for advertising.
• Account Credentials: If you sign in via Google Sign-In or Firebase Auth, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To calculate accurate Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation.
• To identify food items and estimate macronutrients via Gemini Vision AI and Open Food Facts.
• To synchronize your historical nutrition records and progress analytics across your authenticated devices.
• To manage subscription entitlements and billing status via Google Play Billing.

3. Third-Party Services & Data Processors

We partner with trusted service providers strictly to deliver core app functionality:

• Google Firebase (Firebase Auth, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Storage, Firebase Analytics): For secure authentication, cloud sync, and crash diagnostics.
• Google Gemini Vision API / OpenRouter AI: For computer vision food recognition. Meal images are processed securely to extract nutritional components.
• Open Food Facts API: To query open-source food barcodes and nutrition databases.
• Google Play Billing: To securely process in-app subscription payments. We do not store or receive your credit card details.

4. Device Permissions

• Camera (CAMERA): Required to scan food barcodes and snap meal photos for AI analysis.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Optional, used to send meal logging reminders and hydration alerts.
• Vibration (VIBRATE): Used for tactile haptic feedback during interactive meal logging.

5. Data Retention & Deletion Rights

You retain full ownership of your data. You may request permanent deletion of your profile, nutrition diary, and stored photos at any time directly through the app or by submitting our Account Deletion Request Form.
